A note on updates in this course

The discussion of what contact tracing is, the theory of how it works, the key steps in the contact tracing process, and ethical considerations in balancing public health programs and individual rights remain accurate and up to date. However, due the continual rapid evolution of COVID variants, their transmission, and CDC guidance for prevention, it is not possible for the staff of this course to keep the course up to date on the latest COVID characteristics and public health guidance. Instead, please visit the CDC COVID-19 website for the most current information on:

  • Guidance on masking, isolation, quarantine, and other factors to protect public health
  • The latest COVID-19 variants
  • Vaccinations
